Our mission

A plant-science mission built around a real place.

The foundation plans to carry that mission into a twelve-bed residential campus in New Mexico.

“The Sterling Foundation is a nonprofit entity founded for the purpose of advancing plant science in the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder and other addiction-related disorders. The Sterling Foundation will operate a residential treatment facility utilizing plant-science pharmacology to replace traditional drugs in the treatment and rehabilitation process.”

The stated purpose of The Sterling Foundation, Inc.

The model the foundation is planning

The Sterling House is meant to bring three parts of daily recovery into one small residential program.

  1. A home-sized residence

The plan calls for twelve beds. That scale is deliberate: a place where people can know one another and take part in the life of the house.

  2. Daily life on a working farm

Residents would help grow food for the facility and tend the animals. The farm is part of the daily structure, not scenery around it.

  3. A plant-science program

The foundation is working with Elemental Kitchen & Laboratory, LLC on its plant-science approach, centered on cannabis-based formulations.
